Relevance to Generation Z: The University of Washington is forecasting an increase of about 200,000 deaths due to Covid-19 by the first of May if all precautions are taken by the entire population. Given the new more contagious Covid-19 variants, the death toll is expected to be much greater, requiring greater adherence to Covid-19 safety guidelines.
The University of Washington is forecasting an increase of about 200,000 deaths due to Covid-19 by the first of May. While over 430,000 Americans have already succumbed to the virus, it is projected that a minimum of 130,000 more individuals are to die as well within the next three months. This estimation, however, is likely to be below what the actual death toll may be as it is dependent on the entire population following Covid safety precautions. Regarding the new more contagious variants of Covid-19, Dr. Fauic predicts that "this virus will continue for certain to evolve and mutate.”
