It's Time to Get Involved.

Relevance to Gen Z: This article is important to Generation Z as political polarization has become commonplace in the U.S. over the last couple of years, and is resulting in such instances that lead to the situation discussed in the article. As a member of Generation Z, it is important to understand why such polarization exists and where extremism, as discussed in the article, can lead, where it comes from, and what it looks like. 

Hours after Michael Reinoehl admitted to fatally shooting Aaron Danielson, a right-wing protester, in Portland Oregon, Reinoehl was killed while being arrested by law enforcement. U.S. Marshals Service said in a statement that a warrant was issued for Reinoehl for murder and that his arrest was intended to be peaceful. Lt. Ray Brady of Thurston County said that Reinoehl ran to a vehicle parked outside his apartment, and officers opened fire to try and stop him. Reinoehl then ran from the vehicle and produced a gun, prompting law enforcement officers to fire again.
